A magnesium anode (40x520mm, 1 1/2") is used for corrosion protection in water heaters and hot water storage tanks.
These anodes are made of magnesium, a base metal that sacrifices itself to prevent corrosive damage to the tank
The anode is inserted into the 400l storage tank and forms a galvanic cell with the steel of the tank. During the use of the hot water storage tank, the magnesium is slowly consumed instead of the tank rusting.
